You can collect and explore the metadata of various data in NAVER Cloud Platform's Data Catalog. You can learn how to use in detail in Getting started with Data Catalog and Using Data Catalog but we recommend that you first look at the entire scenario using Data Catalog. Reading the guide after learning the usage scenario will allow you to use Data Catalog more smoothly. The overall sequence of using Data Catalog and description of each sequence are as follows.
1. Set usage permissions
2. Create database
3. Create database
4. Search metadata
1. Set usage permissions
You can set usage permissions to use Data Catalog. Data Catalog permissions are defined by mapping "roles" to "sub accounts" issued by NAVER Cloud Platform's Sub Account. Thus, you need to first create sub accounts other than your main account through Sub Account.
Sub Account is a service provided free of charge upon subscription request. For an introduction on Sub Account and details about its pricing plans, see the Services > Management & Governance > Sub Account menu in the NAVER Cloud Platform portal.
You can use sub accounts provided by Sub Account to configure admin permissions and user permissions of Data Catalog. You can refer to the following guide(s):
2. Create database
Create database in catalog. You can refer to the following guide(s):
3. Collect metadata
Collect metadata and create a table by generating a scanner and executing it. Tables are automatically created by the scanner, or tables can be created by manually defining the schema. You can refer to the following guide(s):
4. Search metadata
Search and check metadata stored in database and tables. You can enhance data accessibility by adding tags to database and tables. You can create your own tag templates or save and use the provided templates. You can refer to the following guide(s):
