Broadcast stream management

This section describes how to perform test streaming for seamless broadcasting, check the streaming status during a broadcast, and monitor a broadcast being streamed.

Test streaming

You can test if the streaming is working properly before the actual broadcast.
To perform test streaming:

  1. From the NAVER Cloud Platform console, navigate to Menu > Services > Media > Live Station.
  2. Click the Channel management menu.
  3. Select the channel to test stream from the channel list, then [Test streaming].
    • You can also click [Test streaming] on the channel details interface after clicking the channel name.
  4. Click [Start streaming] in the test streaming popup.
  5. Check the details in the popup, then click [OK].
    • The test streaming begins.
    • You can end the test streaming by clicking [End streaming].
    • You can refresh the video under test streaming by clicking [Refresh].

Check the broadcast streaming status

To check the broadcast streaming status:

  1. From the NAVER Cloud Platform console, navigate to Menu > Services > Media > Live Station.
  2. Click the Channel management menu.
  3. Select the channel to check the status, then click [Status].
    • You can also click [Status] on the channel details interface after clicking the channel name.

Monitoring

To monitor a broadcast being streamed:

  1. From the NAVER Cloud Platform console, navigate to Menu > Services > Media > Live Station.
  2. Click the Channel management menu.
  3. Select the channel to monitor, then click [Monitoring].
    • You can also click [Monitoring] on the channel details interface after clicking the channel name.
    • The monitoring popup appears.
      • You can monitor the broadcast currently being streamed in the monitoring popup, and check the streaming information by clicking [Check streaming information]. To refresh the streaming information, click [Retry].
      • When streaming redundancy is enabled, you can view the main and backup interfaces for the stream simultaneously.
Caution

Even if DRM is applied to the customer channel, monitoring the video player does not apply DRM.

Manually switch between the Main and Backup streams

To manually switch between the Main and Backup streams during a broadcast:

To use the manual Main/Backup stream switching feature, you must enable the redundancy setting when creating the channel.

  1. Start streaming the channel.

  2. While streaming, click the Manual switching button.
