    You can use media files uploaded to NAVER Cloud Platform's Object Storage buckets to create and manage streaming channels where you can quickly and easily build VOD streaming services your customers want at Media Connect Center's Streaming channel. Streaming channel is a feature only available by linking with NAVER Cloud Platform's VOD Station. Previously, managing media files had to be done at Object Storage, and managing streaming channels for the media files had to be done at VOD Station. Now you can perform those tasks at once in Media Connect Center's Streaming channel easily and conveniently through the linkage.

    Caution
    • In order to link with VOD Station, you must be using VOD Station. Additional fees apply when you request subscription to VOD Station. For the introduction on VOD Station and details about its pricing plans, refer to the Service > Media > VOD Station menu in the NAVER Cloud Platform portal.
    • VOD Station > Streaming channel is not displayed on the Media Connect Center screen if not linked to VOD Station.

    When you link VOD Station, Object Storage buckets used by VOD Station will be managed after importing them to Media Connect Center. The following describes how to set up linkage with VOD Station.

    Note

    If you've completed setting up the VOD Station linkage in Encoding category, then this process is skipped in Streaming channel. You only have to link VOD Station only once at the beginning.

    1. Click the VOD Station > Link VOD Station menu at the left side of the screen.

    2. When the Link VOD Station pop-up window appears, check the details, and then click the [Link now] button.
    3. When the Link VOD Station pop-up window appears, check the list of buckets to be linked, and then click the [Confirm] button.
    4. After linking, check the Encoding category and Streaming channel menus created.

    View the list of streaming channels and their details

    You can view the list of streaming channels and details of each streaming channel in Streaming channel. It's linked to VOD Station, so you can start, stop, or delete channels as you could using VOD Station from the NAVER Cloud Platform console, as well as create a new channel.
    Please note that Media Connect Center's category list page and guide (usage instruction) correspond to VOD Station as below.

    The information that can be seen from the Streaming channel tab menu is linked data from VOD Station, and the setting result from the Streaming channel tab menu is reflected to VOD Station as well.
    The following describes how to view the list of streaming channels or their details, or to set channel-related information.

    1. Click the VOD Station > Streaming channel menu at the left side of the screen.
    2. When the streaming channel list appears, check the required information.
    3. Click the streaming channel whose details you want to view.
    4. Check or set the details which appear on the right side of the screen.
      • General tab menu: View and set the streaming channel's properties
        • Description of each item and how to use them: Refer to VOD Station (New) Guide
        • [Start channel] button: Click to start the channel
        • [Stop channel] button: Click to stop the channel
        • [Delete channel] button: Click to delete the channel
        • [File list] button: Click to view the information of the file being streamed from the channel and generate the CDN+ playback path
      • Advanced tab menu: View the content of advanced settings
    5. If you would like to only view the streaming channels you want by searching, then set the channel name and status at the top of the screen and click the [Search] button.
    Note

    Clicking the channel name from the list of streaming channels will direct you to the same page that appears when you click the [File list] button from Step 4.

    Caution

    The list is refreshed to the latest version when you click the [Reset] button.

    Create channel

    You can create new streaming channels and add them. The creation result will be reflected to the linked VOD Station as well.
    The following describes how to create a streaming channel.

    1. Click the VOD Station > Streaming channel menu at the left side of the screen.
    2. Click the [Create channel] button.
    3. Enter the required information, click the [Create] button.

    Start channel

    You can start a streaming channel with the Stopped status. The result of the start will be reflected to the linked VOD Station as well. The following describes how to start a streaming channel.

    1. Click the VOD Station > Streaming channel menu at the left side of the screen.
    2. Select the streaming channel to start, and then click the [Start channel] button.

    Stop channel

    You can stop a streaming channel with the Running status. The result of the stopping will be reflected to the linked VOD Station as well. The following describes how to stop a streaming channel.

    1. Click the VOD Station > Streaming channel menu at the left side of the screen.
    2. Select the streaming channel to stop, and then click the [Stop channel] button.

    Delete channel

    You can delete a streaming channel with the Stopped status. Running streaming channels can't be deleted, so you must change the channel's status to Stopped before deleting it. The result of the deletion will be reflected to the linked VOD Station as well.
    The following describes how to delete a streaming channel.

    1. Click the VOD Station > Streaming channel menu at the left side of the screen.
    2. Select the streaming channel to delete, and then click the [Delete channel] button.
    3. When the Delete pop-up window appears, click the [Delete] button.
