Describes how to set and manage the playback and security policies of DRM licenses.

DRM policy page

DRM policy page is laid out as follows:

Area Description
① Menu name Name of the menu currently being viewed
② Basic features DRM Policy Features displayed when entering the menu for the first time
  • [Policy] button: click to add a license policy
  • [Learn More about the Product] button: click to go to the One Click Multi DRM introduction page
  • [Refresh] button: click to refresh the page
  • [Auto Renewal] button: click the toggle button to automatically refresh the page
③ Post-creation features
  • [Configure] button: change the settingsof the selected policy
  • [Copy] button: create a copyof the selected policy
  • [Delete] button: deletethe selected policy
  • [Policy Logs] button: check and download event logs for the last 30 days for all created license policies

Add a license policy

The following describes how to add a new DRM license policy.

  1. In the NAVER Cloud Platform console, navigate to i_menu > Services > Media > One Click Multi DRM.

  2. Click DRM Policy.

  3. Click [Policy].

  4. Set the license policy on the policy creation page.

    • Policy Name: enter a policy name. Enter 3 - 20 characters using letters, numbers, and underscores.

    • Persistent: whether to store the license for offline use

    • Rental Duration: If the Persistent option is selected as True, the license validity period from the time of license download to the first playback

    • Playback Duration: license validity period after the first playback

    • Widevine: select whether to use Widevine DRM

      Item Description
      Security level Set the Widevine security level value. The higher the number, the higher the security level applied. If set to 5, only Widevine L1 devices can play.
      Required hdcp version Set security level for digital output. The higher the version, the higher the security level applied.
      Required cgms flags Set the security (CGMS-A) level for analog output
      Disable analog output Whether to block analog output
      hdcp srm rule Set whether to play content when the HDCP device cannot process System Renewability Message (SRM). If you select CURRENT_SRM, devices that do not apply the latest SRM cannot play content.
      Override device revocation Whether to allow the issuance of licenses to Android devices that have been revoked
    • Playready: select whether to use Playready DRM

      Item Description
      Security level Set PlayReady security level value. When applying a higher number, a higher security level is applied. Security level value is set to 3000 for hardware DRM application.
      Digital video protection level Set the security level for digital video output. The higher the version, the higher the security level applied.
      Analog video protection level Set the security level for analog video output. The higher the version, the higher the security level applied.
      Digital audio protection level Set the security level for digital audio output. The higher the version, the higher the security level applied.
      Required hdcp type 1 Set whether Type 1 is required when HDCP is applied. If set to True, only devices supporting HDCP 2.2 or higher can play the content.
    • Fairplay: select whether to use Fairplay DRM

      Item Description
      Hdcp enforcement Whether to apply HDCP and the HDCP version
      Allow airplay Whether to allow AirPlay on the playback device
      allow av adapter Whether to allow output using a digital AV adapter
  5. Click [Next].

  6. After reviewing your settings, click [Create].

    • The policy will be added to the list.

Change license policy

The following describes how to change the settings of a license policy:

Note
  • The default policy cannot be changed.
  • Any changes to a policy will be applied to all sites where the policy is implemented.
  1. In the NAVER Cloud Platform console, navigate to i_menu > Services > Media > One Click Multi DRM.
  2. Click DRM Policy.
  3. In the policy list, select the policy you want to change and click [Configure].
  4. Change the settings as you want.
  5. After completing the changes, click [Next].
  6. After reviewing the contents, click [Edited].
  7. When a warning pop-up window appears, click [OK].
  8. Click [OK].

Copying existing license policy

If you want to create a different policy similar to an existing license policy, you can make a copy of the existing policy and edit it. The following describes how to make a copy of an existing policy:

  1. In the NAVER Cloud Platform console, navigate to i_menu > Services > Media > One Click Multi DRM.
  2. Click DRM Policy.
  3. In the policy list, select the policy you want to copy and click [Copy].
  4. When the pop-up window appears, click [OK].
    • A copy named "Copy_(policy name)" will be created and instantly added to the list.
    • For details on how to edit the name and settings of the copy, refer to Change license policy.

Delete license policy

The following describes how to delete a license policy:

Note
  • You can't delete policies in use on a site. To delete a policy in use, first change the license policy of that site.
  • Deleted policies cannot be restored.
  1. In the NAVER Cloud Platform console, navigate to i_menu > Services > Media > One Click Multi DRM.
  2. Click DRM Policy.
  3. In the policy list, select the policy you want to delete and click [Delete].
  4. When the pop-up window appears, click [OK].
    • The policy is deleted and removed from the list.
