Troubleshoot common issues

Available in Classic and VPC

You may encounter the following issues while using the NAS service. View the causes and solutions of problems and take proper action.

Volume resizing error

An error message appears when shrinking a volume.

Cause

A problem occurs when you try to shrink a NAS volume to 500 GB or less.

Solution

  • The NAS volume must be at least 500 GB. Check the size of the volume you are trying to shrink.
  • Make sure that the volume is larger than its current usage.

Usage notation error

The capacity did not decrease after deleting the data.

Cause

NAS storage stores some metadata as an in-volume cache to improve performance. This area (Metadata) is allocated up to 2% of the volume capacity, and as data is added and deleted, the internal logic of the storage automatically stores and retrieves it. As a result, it may appear that space reclamation does not take effect immediately when data is deleted.

Solution

This occurs because some space in the storage is being used as a cache, an internal storage architecture that improves storage performance. No action is required.

Replication failed (Classic)

The replication fails while replicating a volume from a Classic to a VPC.

Cause

Insufficient snapshot space might cause replication to fail.

Solution

Stop the replication, increase the size of the source volume, and then click [Restart Replication] to restart the replication. If the error still occurs after restarting replication, please contact the Customer Center on the NAVER Cloud Platform portal.
