Ncloud Storage quickstart

Available in Classic and VPC

NAVER Cloud Platform's Ncloud Storage service provides an object storage that meets different security requirements while ensuring cost efficiency, scalability, and availability through efficient operation of storage classes.
You can view how to use it from getting started with Ncloud Storage and using Ncloud Storage, but we recommend viewing the complete scenario of the Ncloud Storage service. If you learn the usage scenarios and view how to use it, you can experience more efficient use of the Ncloud Storage service. You can create buckets and upload files from the console or execute them via API later on.

Here's the entire process for using Ncloud Storage:

1. Set user permissions
2. Start subscription
3. Create authentication key
4. Manage buckets
5. Manage objects
6. Use APIs

1. Set user permissions

If multiple people will be managing Ncloud Storage, you can assign different permissions to each user. Using NAVER Cloud Platform's Sub Account service, you can create admin and user roles with varying access levels.
Setting up user permissions is optional—you can configure them at any time.

Note

Sub Account is a free service with no additional charges. For more information on Sub Account and pricing, see Services > Management & Governance > Sub Account on the NAVER Cloud Platform portal.

For detailed instructions, see:

2. Start subscription

No application process is required for Ncloud Storage service. Simply create one or more buckets from Console > i_menu > Ncloud Storage > Create Bucket on NAVER Cloud Platform to start your subscription.

For detailed instructions, see:

3. Create authentication key

To use APIs in Ncloud Storage service, you must first create an API authentication key in the NAVER Cloud Platform portal.

See the following user guides on API authentication keys:

Note

When accessing with Sub Account, some features in My Account > Manage account and security on the NAVER Cloud Platform console may be restricted depending on your permissions.

4. Manage buckets

You can create and delete buckets, view detailed information in the bucket list, set bucket version control, and download the bucket list as an excel file.

See the following guides:

5. Manage objects

You can upload and download objects (files) from the bucket created. By changing the storage class of uploaded objects or managing meta data, you can optimize the cost, performance, and availability of the object.

See the following guides:

6. Use APIs

You must use APIs when uploading objects exceeding 5 GB to a bucket in Ncloud Storage or when integrating with Amazon S3 API.
