          Papago Image Translation is an image translation REST API that provides translation results by identifying the text present in various types of images, including pictures of products, financial documents, and receipts. Integrating Papago's AI technologies such as OCR, HTS, NMT, and Text Editing to create an image translation API of the highest quality, it uses OCR and HTS technologies to analyze images into semantic units suitable for translation and generate more natural translation results. This enables users to get the translation results they want through image recognition alone, without having to input the text from the image word by word, and the translation results can be viewed not only in text format, but also in an image format that synthesizes the translation results with the original image. With support for a wide range of languages, including Korean, English, Japanese, Chinese, and Vietnamese, the API can automatically detect the source language without the user having to separately specify it.

          Papago Image Translation features

          Papago Image Translation provides the following features:

          • Instant image translation: by applying Papago's unique Text Editing (Inpainting+Rendering) technology, users can instantly check the translation results directly on the image. The API provides a high-quality translation image by synthesizing the design information from the original image, such as the text's position, color, and size.
          • Automatic source language detection: the API's ability to automatically detect the source language eliminates any need for the user to specify the source language separately.
          • Wide linguistic coverage: since the API supports a large variety of languages, including not only Korean, English, Japanese, but also Chinese, Vietnamese, and Indonesian, it has applications for various global services that require image translation.
          • Papago's HTS technology: through Papago's HTS (Hierarchical Text Structuring) technology which analyzes the design and sentence structure of text identified from images and reconstructs it into sentences and paragraphs optimized for translation, the API provides more natural translation results.
          • User-friendly design: the entire process - from image text recognition to translation to image synthesis of the translation result - is provided through a single API for increased user convenience.
