Once you've reviewed the Security Monitoring specifications, quickstart, and glossary, you're ready to start using the service. Now, your next step is to subscribe to Security Monitoring. The subscription to Security Monitoring is processed by agreeing to the terms of service and submitting the service request form. When you subscribe, you can select and request only the desired security services, rather than requesting all security services provided by Security Monitoring at once.
Subscribe to the service
To subscribe to Security Monitoring, you need to agree to the terms of service from the NAVER Cloud Platform console first. After that, you can subscribe to, change, or unsubscribe from IDS, IPS, and Anti-Virus services through the NAVER Cloud Platform console. For WAF and Anti-DDoS services, you need to fill out a service request form and submit it through the NAVER Cloud Platform portal.

1. Agree to terms of service
To agree to the terms of service of Security Monitoring from the NAVER Cloud Platform console:
- Access the NAVER Cloud Platform console.
- Click Region & Platform in the upper right corner of the console.
- Select your Region and VPC platform and click [Apply].
- Click
in the upper left corner of the console. - Navigate to Services > Security > Security Monitoring.
- Click the Subscription menu.
- Click [Agree to terms of service].
- When the Terms of service popup appears, click I have read and agree to the Security Monitoring terms of service .
- Click [OK].
2. Subscribe to service
To subscribe to Security Monitoring services:
2-1. Subscribe to IDS/IPS/Anti-Virus
Once you have agreed to the terms of service, you can subscribe to IDS, IPS, and Anti-Virus services through the NAVER Cloud Platform console.
Subscribe to IDS
- From the NAVER Cloud Platform console's VPC platform, navigate to
> Services > Security > Security Monitoring. - Click the Subscription menu.
- Click the [Request subscription] button for IDS (V2).
- Familiarize yourself with the service description, and click [Next].
- Review the list of protection targets, and click [Subscribe].
- Once the request is complete, you can go to the [View monitoring targets] and [Notification] pages through a popup.
Subscribe to IPS
- From the NAVER Cloud Platform console's VPC platform, navigate to
> Services > Security > Security Monitoring. - Click the Subscription menu.
- Click [Request subscription] for IPS (V2).
- Familiarize yourself with the service description, select the service you want between Server and Bare Metal Server, and click [Next].
- For IPS (V2), only the servers with an Agent installed can be set as protection targets.
- Click [Download Agent installation guide] to download the installation guide.
- See the installation guide, install the Agent on the server you want to add as a protection target, and click [Next].
- You can add servers as protection targets when the Agent status is "On" and the server status is "RUN."
- Click the checkbox to select the protection targets and click [Next].
- Review the list of requested protection targets, and click [Add protection target].
- Once the request is complete, you can go to the [View monitoring targets] and [Notification] pages through a popup.
Subscribe to Anti-Virus
- From the NAVER Cloud Platform console's VPC platform, navigate to
> Services > Security > Security Monitoring. - Click the Subscription menu.
- Click the [Request subscription] button for Anti-Virus (V2).
- Familiarize yourself with the service description, select the service you want between Server and Bare Metal Server, and click [Next].
- For Anti-Virus (V2), only the servers with an Agent installed can be set as protection targets.
- Click [Download Agent installation guide] to download the installation guide.

2-2. Subscribe to WAF/Anti-DDoS
Once you've agreed to the terms of service, for WAF and Anti-DDoS services, you need to download the Security Monitoring service request form from the NAVER Cloud Platform portal, fill it out, and submit it. The submitted service request form is checked and approved by the NAVER Cloud Platform personnel. To fill out and submit a service request form:
- Access the NAVER Cloud Platform portal.
- Navigate to Customer Support > Support center > Materials.
- Click and download the Security Monitoring service request form.
- Fill out the request form for the VPC environment.
- Click and select the security services you want to use.

- Click and select the security services you want to use.
- Navigate to Customer Support > Support center > Contact Support.
- Click the Service tab menu.
- Enter the information required for the subscription, attach the filled out request form, and click [Contact Support].
Familiarize yourself with precautions for using each security service before requesting security services in Step 4.

- If you want to subscribe to Security Monitoring in the Classic environment in addition to the VPC environment, you need to fill out a separate request form for the Classic environment and submit it. For information about subscription in the Classic environment, see Classic > Getting started.
- If you navigate to Services > Security > Security Monitoring and click [Contact Support] from the NAVER Cloud Platform portal, you can proceed with Steps 5 to 7 at once.
Change subscription
Here's how to change the monitoring targets of Security Monitoring services:
Change subscription to IPS/Anti-Virus
You can change subscription to the IPS and Anti-Virus services through the NAVER Cloud Platform console.
- From the NAVER Cloud Platform console's VPC platform, navigate to
> Services > Security > Security Monitoring. -
- Navigate to Setting > Security Equipment.
You cannot change IDS settings through the Security Equipment menu to prevent missing intrusions, as it is designed to service for clients' VMs that are disclosed outside of the requested Region. (The server includes both VDS and Bare Metal servers, as well as VMs.)
Change subscription to WAF/Anti-DDoS
- Access the NAVER Cloud Platform portal.
- Navigate to Customer Support > Support center > Materials.
- Click and download the Security Monitoring service request form.
- Fill out the request form for the VPC environment.
- Click and select the security services you want to unsubscribe from.
- From Request type, select Change.

- Navigate to Customer support > Support center > Contact Support.
- Click the Service tab menu.
- Enter the information required to change subscription, attach the filled out request form, and click [Contact Support].
Unsubscribe from the service
You can unsubscribe from the Security Monitoring from the NAVER Cloud Platform portal. You can cancel the service whenever you want. You can unsubscribe from IDS, IPS, Anti-Virus, WAF, and Anti-DDoS through the NAVER Cloud Platform console. To cancel your subscription:

To unsubscribe from IDS:
- Access the NAVER Cloud Platform console.
- Click Region & Platform in the upper right corner of the console.
- Select your Region and VPC platform and click [Apply].
- Click
in the upper left corner of the console. - Navigate to Services > Security > Security Monitoring.
- Click the Subscription menu.
- Click the Subscribed dropdown in IDS (V2) and select Unsubscribe.
Unsubscribe from IPS
To unsubscribe from IPS:
- Access the NAVER Cloud Platform console.
- Click Region & Platform in the upper right corner of the console.
- Select your Region and VPC platform and click [Apply].
- Click
in the upper left corner of the console. - Navigate to Services > Security > Security Monitoring.
- Click the Subscription menu.
- Click the Subscribed dropdown in IPS (V2) and select Unsubscribe.
- Click the server you want to unsubscribe from and click Delete protection target.
- After checking the unsubscription notice, click OK.
Unsubscribe from Anti-Virus
To unsubscribe from Anti-Virus:
- Access the NAVER Cloud Platform console.
- Click Region & Platform in the upper right corner of the console.
- Select your Region and VPC platform and click [Apply].
- Click
in the upper left corner of the console. - Navigate to Services > Security > Security Monitoring.
- Click the Subscription menu.
- Click the Subscribed dropdown in Anti-Virus (V2) and select Unsubscribe.
- Click the server you want to unsubscribe from and click Delete protection target.
- After checking the unsubscription notice, click OK.
Unsubscribe from WAF
To unsubscribe from WAF:
- Access the NAVER Cloud Platform console.
- Click Region & Platform in the upper right corner of the console.
- Select your Region and VPC platform and click [Apply].
- Click
in the upper left corner of the console. - Navigate to Services > Security > Security Monitoring.
- Click the Subscription menu.
- Click the Subscribed dropdown in WAF (V2) and select Unsubscribe.
- After checking the unsubscription notice, click OK.
Unsubscribe from Anti-DDoS
To unsubscribe from Anti-DDoS:
- Access the NAVER Cloud Platform console.
- Click Region & Platform in the upper right corner of the console.
- Select your Region and VPC platform and click [Apply].
- Click
in the upper left corner of the console. - Navigate to Services > Security > Security Monitoring.
- Click the Subscription menu.
- Click the Subscribed dropdown in Anti-DDoS (V2) and select Unsubscribe.
- After checking the unsubscription notice, click OK.
- It takes 2-3 days, including the date of the request, to unsubscribe from WAF (V2) and Anti-DDoS (V2).
- Once the unsubscription is complete, an email notification is sent to the account that you applied for unsubscription with. The data of Security Monitoring is deleted 30 days after the date of unsubscription.
