    This part describes how to create/register/manage a KakaoTalk Channel.

    Note

    To use features provided in Biz Message > KakaoTalk Channel, you need to have a project set to use the Biz Message. To create a project, see Create project; to edit the settings of a created project, see Edit project.

    Create KakaoTalk Channel

    AlimTalk/FriendTalk service is a Biz Message service that is only available for business clients. First, create a KakaoTalk Channel in the KakaoTalk Channel admin centerand receive the business certification through the center. In addition, change the settings to Open home for using the service.

    Note
    • The name has been changed from Yellow ID into Plus Friend on May 24, 2017, and has been changed from Plus Friend into KakaoTalk Channel on September 17, 2019.
    • According to the KISA guide on June 22, 2023, as customer center information must now be filled in when registering a new outgoing profile (Channel), you must fill in customer center information before creating and registering a Channel. (Where to enter information: KakaoTalk Channel admin center > Profile > Set home tab card > Basic information)

    Register KakaoTalk Channel

    To register a KakaoTalk Channel, follow these steps:

    Note

    Only a KakaoTalk Channel with business certification can be registered.

    1. Click the environment you are using in the Region menu and the Platform menu on the NAVER Cloud Platform console.
    2. Click Services > Application Services > Simple & Easy Notification Service in order.
    3. Click Biz Message > KakaoTalk Channel in order.
    4. Select the project to register a KakaoTalk Channel and click the [Register Channel] button.
    5. When the Register KakaoTalk Channel popup window appears, enter the KakaoTalk Channel information.
      • KakaoTalk Channel: enter the ID for search when creating the KakaoTalk Channel
        • The message is received by the receiver in the name of the registered KakaoTalk Channel.
      • Administrator contact info: enter the contact information of the administrator to receive the authentication number
        • The authentication number is sent as a KakaoTalk message.
      • Business operator category: select the business category of the Channel
    6. Click the [Receive authentication number] button and enter the received authentication number.
    7. Click the [Register] button.
      • The KakaoTalk Channel will be registered and displayed on the list.
    Caution

    If invalid business information is used for KakaoTalk Channel registration, this will be considered as abuse and it will be deleted without prior notice. If the abuse continues, you may be blocked from using Simple & Easy Notification Service.

    KakaoTalk Channel management

    You can transfer, suspend, enable, or delete the registered KakaoTalk Channel.

    Note
    • You can transfer the KakaoTalk Channel only to a project set for using the Biz Message. If the project for the transfer is not set for using the Biz Message, first set it for using the Biz Message and then transfer. (See Edit project)

    Transfer KakaoTalk Channel (same account)

    To transfer the KakaoTalk Channel to another project, follow these steps:

    1. Click the environment you are using in the Region menu and the Platform menu on the NAVER Cloud Platform console.
    2. Click Services > Application Services > Simple & Easy Notification Service in order.
    3. Click Biz Message > KakaoTalk Channel in order.
    4. Select the same account in the transfer KakaoTalk Channel popup window.
    5. Click the KakaoTalk Channel to be transferred.
    6. Enter the confirmation phrase and click the [Transfer] button.
      • The KakaoTalk Channel will be transferred to the selected project.

    Transfer KakaoTalk Channel (another account)

    To transfer a KakaoTalk Channel to a project under another account, follow these steps:

    1. Click the environment you are using in the Region menu and the Platform menu on the NAVER Cloud Platform console.
    2. Click Services > Application Services > Simple & Easy Notification Service in order.
    3. Click Biz Message > KakaoTalk Channel in order.
    4. Select the service with the KakaoTalk Channel to be transferred.
    5. Select another account in the transfer KakaoTalk Channel popup window.
    6. Click the KakaoTalk Channel to be transferred.
    7. Enter the service ID of the account that will receive the KakaoTalk Channel.
    8. Enter the Salt to create the transfer key.
    9. Check the transfer key validity period and click the [Create] button.
    10. Enter the Salt and transfer key in the receiving account.
    11. Enter the confirmation phrase and click the [Transfer] button.
      • The KakaoTalk Channel will be transferred to the selected project.

    Enable KakaoTalk Channel

    To reactivate a suspended KakaoTalk Channel, follow these steps:

    1. Click the environment you are using in the Region menu and the Platform menu on the NAVER Cloud Platform console.
    2. Click Services > Application Services > Simple & Easy Notification Service in order.
    3. Click Biz Message > KakaoTalk Channel in order.
    4. Select the project with the KakaoTalk Channel to enable.
    5. Select the KakaoTalk Channel you want to enable and click the [Enable] button.
    6. When the Enable popup window appears, click the [OK] button.
      • The KakaoTalk Channel status will be changed to Normal.
    Note
    • If no history of AlimTalk message delivery or consultation exists for 1 year, the channel will be switched to Dormant.
    • If 1 year passes in the status of Dormant, the KakaoTalk Channel will be deleted. A deleted channel cannot be recovered.
    • If there is no history of AlimTalk message delivery or consultation for 30 days after reactivating the channel from the Dormant status, it'll become dormant again.

    Set KakaoTalk Channel SMS failover

    To set KakaoTalk Channel SMS failover, follow these steps:

    1. Click the environment you are using in the Region menu and the Platform menu on the NAVER Cloud Platform console.
    2. Click Services > Application Services > Simple & Easy Notification Service in order.
    3. Click Biz Message > KakaoTalk Channel in order.
    4. Select the project with the KakaoTalk Channel to be set for SMS failover.
    5. After selecting the KakaoTalk Channel for which you want to set up SMS failover, click the [Edit] button.
    6. Select the use status in the Set SMS Failover popup window and select the project and calling number.
      • You can only select projects set for using SMS.
      • You can only select approved calling numbers.
      • The selected calling number will be used as the default calling number for Failover.
      • When the calling number approval status is changed after setting SMS Failover, the Failover doesn't work.
    7. Click [Save].
      • The SMS Failover settings are completed.

    Suspend KakaoTalk Channel

    To suspend a KakaoTalk Channel, follow these steps:

    Note

    You can restore a suspended KakaoTalk Channel. To delete a KakaoTalk Channel so that it cannot be restored, permanently delete the KakaoTalk Channel.

    1. Click the environment you are using in the Region menu and the Platform menu on the NAVER Cloud Platform console.
    2. Click Services > Application Services > Simple & Easy Notification Service in order.
    3. Click Biz Message > KakaoTalk Channel in order.
    4. Select the project with the KakaoTalk Channel to be suspended.
    5. Select the KakaoTalk Channel to suspend and click the [Suspend] button.
    6. Enter the KakaoTalk Channel name in the Suspend KakaoTalk Channel popup window, and click the [Suspend] button.
      • The KakaoTalk Channel status is changed to Suspended.

    Delete KakaoTalk Channel

    To delete a KakaoTalk Channel, follow these steps:

    Caution

    You cannot restore deleted KakaoTalk Channels, and other accounts cannot be re-registered in Simple & Easy Notification Service.

    Note
    • You can delete only a KakaoTalk Channel which is suspended. If the KakaoTalk Channel to be deleted is not suspended, suspend the KakaoTalk Channel first.
    • The inspection process is required for deletion. You cannot cancel the request.
    1. Click the environment you are using in the Region menu and the Platform menu on the NAVER Cloud Platform console.
    2. Click Services > Application Services > Simple & Easy Notification Service in order.
    3. Click Biz Message > KakaoTalk Channel in order.
    4. Click the project with the KakaoTalk Channel to be deleted.
    5. Select the KakaoTalk Channel to delete and then click the [Delete] button.
    6. Enter the phrase in the Delete KakaoTalk Channel popup window and click the [Delete] button.
      • The KakaoTalk Channel will be deleted and disappear from the list.
