Private Subnet

Private Subnet describes the screen configuration of the Private Subnet menu interface and private subnet information, and explains how to create and delete a private subnet.
Private Subnet is a service that provides an independent virtual network environment that allows internal communications between servers.

Note
  • To use the Private Subnet feature properly, you need to use it with the Network Interface feature.
  • You can create one private subnet per zone.

Check private subnet information

You can view private subnet information on the Private Subnet interface.

Private Subnet interface

From the NAVER Cloud Platform portal, navigate to Console > Menu > All Services > Compute > Server > Private Subnet to view the Private Subnet interface.

The Private Subnet interface includes the following components:

Component Description
① Menu name Current menu name and the number of created private subnets
② Basic features Features provided when you initially enter the Private Subnet menu
  • [Create private subnet]: Create a private subnet.
  • [Learn more]: Go to the Server overview page.
  • [Refresh]: Refresh the Private Subnet list.
③ Post-creation features Features provided after creating a private subnet
④ Private Subnet list List of created private subnets
  • Zone: Zone where the private subnet was created.
  • Subnet: The subnet's address.
  • Status: The private subnet's current status.
    • Creating: The private subnet is being created.
    • Running: The private subnet is available for normal use.
    • Returning: The private subnet is returning.
  • Creation date and time: Date and time the private subnet was created.
  • Notes/Description: A description of the private subnet.
    • [Edit]: Edit the description of the private subnet.

Create private subnet

To create a private subnet:

  1. In the Classic environment of the NAVER Cloud Platform console, navigate to Menu > All Services > Compute > Server.
  2. Click the Private Subnet menu.
  3. Click [Create private subnet].
  4. Specify the settings, and then click [Next].
    • The IP range can be set within 192.168.0.0/16 with an increment of /24.
  5. Check the details, and then click [Create].
    • After private subnet creation is completed, the status is changed from Creating to Running.

Delete private subnet

To delete a private subnet:

Note

Private subnets being used by network interfaces cannot be deleted. First, return the network interface or IPSec VPN currently in use.

  1. In the Classic environment of the NAVER Cloud Platform console, navigate to Menu > All Services > Compute > Server.
  2. Click the Private Subnet menu.
  3. Click to select the private subnet to delete from the Private Subnet list, and then click [Delete].
  4. Check the details in the Delete popup, and then click [OK].
    • The private subnet is returned and disappears from the list.
