Getting started with Cloud Insight

Available in Classic and VPC

The Getting started with Cloud Insight guide describes what you need to do to properly use Cloud Insight after checking the Cloud Insight use environment and supported specifications and fully understanding the overall Usage scenario and Glossary.

The items described in Getting started with Cloud Insight are as follows.

• Subscription to request to monitoring target services
• Request detailed monitoring for Server (VPC)
• Request Cloud Insight subscription
• Cancel Cloud Insight subscription

If you completed the steps through a subscription request to Cloud Insight, then you've completed the basic procedure for using Cloud Insight. Afterward, you have the option of proceeding with the following tasks for more efficient Cloud Insight operation.

• Configuring trigger actions using NAVER Cloud Platform's Cloud Functions
• Operation management using NAVER Cloud Platform's Sub Account

The tasks above can be done after requesting subscription from Cloud Functions and Sub Account, rather than in Cloud Insight, and they're not explained in detail in this guide. For detailed instructions, refer to Cloud Functions Guide and Sub Account Guide.

Subscription to request to monitoring target services

Request subscriptions to services to be monitored among the services whose performance indicators are provided by NAVER Cloud Platform.
For how to request subscription to monitoring target services, refer to each service's guide.

Request detailed monitoring for Server (VPC)

Detailed monitoring must be requested to collect Server's extended metrics through Cloud Insight in a VPC environment.

The following describes how to request Server's detailed monitoring.

1. Connect to the NAVER Cloud Platform console.
2. Click the Services > Compute > Server menu in order.
3. Click the Server menu.
4. Select the server to set up detailed monitoring, and then click the [Manage servers] button.
5. Click Detailed monitoring.
6. Check the details in the detailed monitoring request pop-up window, and then click the [Yes] button.

Request Cloud Insight subscription

The following describes how to request subscription to Cloud Insight.

1. Connect to the NAVER Cloud Platform console.
2. Click the Services > Management & Governance > Cloud Insight (monitoring) menus, in that order.
3. Click the Subscription menu.
4. Click the [Request subscription] button.
5. Check the details in the subscription request pop-up window, and then click the [OK] button.

Cancel Cloud Insight subscription

The following describes how to cancel Cloud Insight subscription.

1. Connect to the NAVER Cloud Platform console.
2. Click the Services > Management & Governance > Cloud Insight (monitoring) menus, in that order.
3. Click the Subscription menu.
4. Click the [Product in use] button, and then click Cancel subscription.
5. Check the details in the subscription cancellation pop-up window, and then click the [OK] button.
