Geo∕CIDR Map

Prev Next

Available in Classic and VPC

To create a traffic policy applying a geolocation or CIDR load balancing algorithm, you must first create a map suitable for the algorithm. Map is made up of multiple zones, and a map can be created at the user's convenience by assigning Regions or IP address bandwidth to zones. You can set the maps created in multiple traffic policies.
You can create maps and manage them in the Geo/CIDR Map menu.

Geo/CIDR Map Screen

The following is the basic description of the Geo/CIDR Map for using Global Traffic Manager.

Component Description
① Menu name Show the current menu name.
② Basic features Create map, check Global Traffic Manager details, and refresh Geo/CIDR Map interface.
③ Post-creation features Change or delete the settings of the created map.
④ List of maps List of created maps.

Check Geo/CIDR Map List.

To check the information of the created Geo/CIDR Map:

  1. In the NAVER Cloud Platform console, navigate to i_menu > Services > Networking > Global Traffic Manager.
  2. Click the Geo/CIDR Map menu.
  3. When the Geo/CIDR Map list appears, check summary information or click Geo/CIDR Map to check detailed information.
    • Map name: Name entered when creating the map.
    • Map Type: Type of map (GEO, CIDR)
    • Associated Traffic Policy: Traffic Policy configured using the map.
    • Created on: Date and time when the map was created.
    • Last modified on: Date and time when the map settings were last modified.
    • Geolocation details/CIDR details: Detailed information about the Zones or CIDR blocks configured in the map.

Create Geo/CIDR Map

Create the Geo Map or CIDR Map depending on the algorithm you want to use.

  • Create Geo Map: Create a physical Region-based Map to be applied when using the geolocation algorithm.
  • Create CIDR Map: Create an IP address-based Map to be applied when using the CIDR algorithm.

Create Geo Map

To create Geo Map:

  1. In the NAVER Cloud Platform console, navigate to i_menu > Services > Networking > Global Traffic Manager.
  2. Click the Geo/CIDR Map menu.
  3. Click the [Create Geo/CIDR Map] menu.
  4. Enter the Map name and select GEO in the Map Type drop down menu.
  5. Enter the name of the Zone and click [Create].
    • Select map: Select and load an existing Geo Map.
      • The default Geo Map (DEFAULT_MAP) cannot be loaded.
    • i-gtm-menu: Edit after hovering the mouse over or click Delete to edit Zone name or delete Zone.
  6. Select by clicking Zone.
  7. Select the Region to assign to the Zone and click [Add].
    • You can search by entering the Region name.
    • Click i-gtm-more to display the detailed Region.
    • Can delete from the Zone by selecting the Region added and clicking [Delete].
  8. After repeating steps 5 to 7 to complete adding Zones, click [Create].
Note

You do not need to set a separate zone for the Region you didn’t designate as a Zone. Zone named ETC is automatically created, and ETC includes all Regions not assigned to a Zone.

Create CIDR Map

To create CIDR Map:

  1. In the NAVER Cloud Platform console, navigate to i_menu > Services > Networking > Global Traffic Manager.
  2. Click the Geo/CIDR Map menu.
  3. Click the [Create Geo/CIDR Map] menu.
  4. Enter the Map name and select CIDR in the Map Type.
  5. Enter the CIDR block information and click [Add].
    • Block name: Enter a block name.
    • IP block settings: Enter the CACHE DNS address ranges queried by clients for each block.
    • i-gtm-blockedit: Click to edit CIDR block settings
    • i-gtm-delete: Click to delete CIDR block
  6. After repeating step 5 to complete adding CIDR blocks, click [Create].
Note

You do not need to set a separate CIDR block for IP address bandwidths that are not designated as CIDR blocks. A CIDR block named ETC is automatically created, and ETC contains all IP address bandwidths not assigned to a CIDR block.

Change Geo/CIDR Map Settings

To change the Zone/CIDR block settings of the created Geo/CIDR Map:

Note
  • You cannot change the settings if there is a Traffic Policy linked to the Geo/CIDR Map. First, disconnect the association or delete the Traffic Policy (see Change Traffic Policy settings or Delete Traffic Policy).
  • The setting in the built-in Geo Map (DEFAULT_MAP) cannot be changed.
  1. In the NAVER Cloud Platform console, navigate to i_menu > Services > Networking > Global Traffic Manager.
  2. Click the Geo/CIDR Map menu.
  3. Select a Map to change the setting and click [Map Settings].
  4. After changing the setting, click [Apply].

Delete Geo/CIDR Map

To delete the created Geo/CIDR Map:

Note
  • You cannot delete it if there is a Traffic Policy connected to the Geo/CIDR Map. First, disconnect the association or delete the Traffic Policy (see Change Traffic Policy settings or Delete Traffic Policy).
  • The built-in Geo Map (DEFAULT_MAP) cannot be deleted.
  1. In the NAVER Cloud Platform console, navigate to i_menu > Services > Networking > Global Traffic Manager.
  2. Click the Geo/CIDR Map menu.
  3. Select a Map to delete and click [Delete].
  4. When the Geo/CIDR Map delete popup appears, click [Delete].
