Through NAVER CLOUD PLATFORM's NAT Gateway, an internal server with a private IP can access an external server with a representative public IP. You can check the process at Getting started with NAT Gateway or Using NAT Gateway. But, first of all, we recommend you to look at NAT Gateway User’s Scenario. Reading the guide after learning the user’s scenario will allow you to use NAT Gateway more smoothly. The overall sequence of using NAT Gateway and description of each sequence are as follows:

1. Set user permissions
2. Create NAT Gateway
3. Set a Peer Host
4. Access an external server

1. Set user permissions

You can set usage permissions for NAT Gateway. NAT Gateway usage permissions are defined by mapping "roles" to "sub accounts" issued by NAVER Cloud Platform's Sub Account. Thus, you need to first create Sub Accounts other than your main account through Sub Account.

Note

Sub Account is a service provided free of charge upon subscription request. For an introduction on Sub Account and details about its pricing plans, refer to the Services > Management & Governance > Sub Account menu in the NAVER Cloud Platform portal.

You can use sub accounts provided by Sub Account to configure admin permissions and user permissions of NAT Gateway. You can refer to the following guide(s):

2. Create NAT Gateway

Create NAT Gateway to use NAT Gateway. You can refer to the following guide(s):

3. Set a Peer Host

Create a private IP for peers to use instead of the public IP you want to access through NAT Gateway, and set the target server. You can refer to the following guide(s):

4. Access an external server

In the internal server of NAVER Cloud Platform, connect to the external server with the representative public IP using the peer-facing private IP. You can refer to the following guide(s):
