In the Glossary menu, you can register and manage a glossary. A glossary is a feature that helps maintain consistency in translation. The following describes the glossary:

  • When you need to use a proper noun and a technical term and keep the original source text in the translation, you can use the glossary.
  • In case of a term with a consistent name, such as a noun/noun phrase, you can use the glossary.
  • If the source text to be translated contains a term registered in the glossary with the exact match, the translation result with the term applied is provided.
  • If there are 2 or more terms that partially overlap each other, the term with more characters is applied to the translation result. <Example>: If both Papago and Papago Translation are registered in the glossary, Papago Translation is replaced and applied during translation
  • Be careful to use the glossary since using the glossary may affect the entire translation when short words or homonyms are registered in the glossary. <Example>: "can" may mean being able to do something or a metal container
  • As the glossary you registered has priority over Papago's translation results, be careful not to register wrong terms or incomplete information.
Note
  • See the Papago Translation API Guide for details on how to use glossary in Translation.
  • You can glossaries in Text Translation, Doc Translation, and Website Translation.
