    Available in VPC

    After you create a server in a VPC, you can obtain a public IP to access the server. You can request a public IP only for the subnets connected to an Internet Gateway.

    Caution
    • It provides the same functionality as the Services > Compute > Server > Public IP menu in the console.
    • Even if you do not assign any sever to a public IP, a fee is charged for the public IP as long as you own it. Consequently, please return the public IP not in use.

    View public IP list

    You can view each IP information from the list of IPs created and operating. To check the information, follow these steps:

    Note

    You can view the list only when you have 1 or more IPs in operation. If you don't have any public IPs created and operating, the list is not visible on the Public IP page.

    1. From within the VPC environment on the NAVER Cloud Platform console, click Services> Networking> VPC in order.
    2. Click the Public IP menu.
    3. When the list of created public IPs appears, view the summarized information, or click a public IP to see details.
      • Public IP: name of the public IP
      • Status: status of the public IP
        • Creating: creating public IP in progress with the information you entered
        • Creating: creating public IP in progress with the information you entered
        • Operating: public IP creation completed with the information you entered, and the route table is available for use
        • Deleting: deletion status of the public IP created with the information you entered
      • Applied instance: name of the server to which is the public IP is applied
      • Applied instance VPC: name of the VPC to which the server with the public IP applied belongs
      • Private IP: private IP of the server to which the public IP is applied
      • Creation date: date of public IP creation
      • Note: memo related to the public IP. To edit it, click the [EDIT] button

    Request public IP

    To request a public IP on the NAVER Cloud Platform console, follow these steps:

    1. From within the VPC environment on the NAVER Cloud Platform console, click Services> Networking> VPC in order.
    2. Click the Public IP menu.
    3. Click the [Request public IP] button.
    4. When the Create public IP popup window, select the server you want assign the public Ip, and the click the [Next] button.
      • If you want only to create a public IP without assigning it to a server, select Do not assign.
    5. After checking the request information, click the [Create] button.
    6. Check the status of the public IP created from the public IP list in the Public IP page.
      • Creating: creating public IP in progress with the information you entered
      • Creating: creating public IP in progress with the information you entered
      • Operating: public IP creation completed with the information you entered, and the route table is available for use

    Assign public IP

    To assign a public IP in an assigned status, follow these steps:

    1. From within the VPC environment on the NAVER Cloud Platform console, click Services> Networking> VPC in order.
    2. Click the Public IP menu.
    3. From the public IP list, select a public IP you want to assign to a server, and then click the [Assign to instance] button.
    4. When the Assign to server popup window appears, select the server to which you want to assign the public IP to, and then click the [Assign] button.
      • The public IP is assigned to the server, and the name of the server to which the public IP is assigned is displayed on the public IP list.

    Remove public IP assignment

    The following describes how to remove an public IP assigned to a server.

    1. From within the VPC environment on the NAVER Cloud Platform console, click Services> Networking> VPC in order.
    2. Click the Public IP menu.
    3. From the public IP list, select a public IP assigned to a server, and then click [Unassign from instance] button.
    4. When the Unassign from server popup window appears click the [Yes] button.

    Return public IP

    The following describes how to terminate a public IP you don't use.

    Note

    You cannot return the Public IPs assigned to a server. To return a public IP, unassign from server in advance.

    1. From within the VPC environment on the NAVER Cloud Platform console, click Services> Networking> VPC in order.
    2. Click the Public IP menu.
    3. Click the public IP you want to return, and then click the [Return public IP] button.
    4. When the Return public IP popup window appears, click the [Yes] button.
    5. Check the status of the public IP from the public IP list in the Public IP page.
      • Deleting: public IP is being returned

    Set transit VPC connection

    You can delegate the currently assigned public IP to the transit VPC created for the Service Function Chain configuration, Once configuration is complete, requests to a delegated public IP come into a transit VPC, not a general VPC. To set a transit VPC connection, follow these steps:

    1. From within the VPC environment on the NAVER Cloud Platform console, click Services> Networking> VPC in order.
    2. Click the Public IP menu.
    3. Click the [Set transit VPC connection] button.
    4. When the Set transit VPC connection popup window appears, enter the setting information.
      • In the [Set public IP connection] tab, you can delegate a specific public IP to a transit VPC.
        • Target VPC to connect: select a general VPC that has a public IP
        • Transit VPC to connect: select the transit VPC to which you want to delegate a public IP
      • In the [Set auto connection] tab, you can set to automatically delegate all the public IPs that will be created in the future to the transit VPC.
        • Transit VPC: select the transit VPC to delegate a public IP
        • Target VPC for auto connection: select a general VPC to create a public IP
    5. After checking the setup information, click the [OK] button.
    Caution

    Before you set the transit VPC connection, you must check the route settings for the general VPC and the transit VPC.
