Global Edge overview

Available in Classic and VPC

Global Edge is a CDN service of NAVER Cloud Platform for accessing web and app contents rapidly, stably and safely between global users and applications. It provides a safe environment through the high availability, short waiting time, and large scale infrastructure regardless of the user's location.

Various feature provided by Global Edge

The following describes various features provided by Global Edge.

• Support various sources and backend: all endpoints of the HTTP support environment are supported including external sources and various services provided by NAVER Cloud Platform.
• Rule-builder: depending on the provided content type, you can control detailed cache rules, re-define headers, and redirect and rewrite URL.
• Support latest protocols and private certificates: encrypted communication with the client is available through HTTP/2 and TLSv1.3 and shortening of network connection time and stability enhancement are provided.
• Strong content authentication and access control: to allow only the authorized users with signed tokens to access, the security URL based on JSON web token can be used and user access can be controlled based on IP, GEO, and Referrer header.
• Transfer optimization: for performance optimization during communication between the content source and the viewer, the latest compression algorithm, brotli, is provided and byte range is provided for optimization of transfer of a large volume of content
• Open API: CI and CD are available with the client system through open API.
