The following guides you through the application process of multi DRM and the service usage scenarios in the console.

Multi DRM applied scenarios

Multi DRM primarily consists of three processes: encrypting and packaging videos, issuing and managing DRM licenses, and decrypting and playing the content. One Click Multi DRM performs all three stages.

1. DRM packaging

DRM packaging is a content security technology that allows only certified users to play copyrighted video content. Video content is encrypted and packaged through NAVER Cloud Platform's Live Station or VOD Station services, or external encoders, and then transmitted through CDN. One Click Multi DRM supports major DRMs such as Google Widevine, Microsoft PlayReady, and Apple FairPlay to enhance device and platform compatibility, and the packaging information can be monitored through the console menu.

2. Licensing and management

To play DRM-protected content on client devices, you must obtain a license by requesting a token from the customer's service site. Clients receive tokens according to pre-defined standards from the service site and use the tokens to obtain licenses. You can set the playback and security policies of a DRM license or initiate and stop licensing through the NAVER Cloud Platform console.

3. Content decryption and playback

When a client requests a DRM license, only certified users are provided with license information containing the decryption key. By integrating with NAVER Cloud Platform's Video Player Enhancement, you can easily decrypt and play videos. Through the DRM-exclusive SDK, you can view content on various platforms and devices.
