Available in VPC
By integrating Search Engine Service with Cloud Insight from NAVER Cloud Platform, you can monitor performance and operational metrics for your clusters. You can set alerts based on monitoring conditions to quickly address cluster issues.
To use Cloud Insight monitoring, subscribe to Cloud Insight.
Create dashboard and widget
Using Cloud Insight dashboards, you can view cluster metrics for clusters created in the Search Engine Service at a glance. You can add various widgets to customize the dashboard to suit your needs.
This section briefly covers only what is required for Search Engine Service. For more information on the dashboard and widgets in Cloud Insight, see Dashboard.
To create dashboards and widgets in Cloud Insight to monitor clusters in Search Engine Service:
- In the VPC environment on the NAVER Cloud Platform console, navigate to
> Services > Management & Governance > Cloud Insight (Monitoring). - Click Dashboard.
- Click [Create dashboard].
- In the Create popup, enter a dashboard name,.and then [Click].
- Click [Add widget].
- Enter a name for the widget, select a widget type, and click [Next].
- Enter the settings, and then click [Next].
- Product Type: Select Search Engine Service(VPC).
- Target: Select the monitoring target.
- Group: Select a monitoring target group. Click [Create monitoring group] to create a group.
- All resources possessed: Select from resources created in Search Engine Service.
- Metric: Select items to monitor.
- Template: Select a monitoring template. Click [Create monitoring template] to create a template.
- All metrics: Select from all monitoring items (for the entire list of monitoring items, see Product list).
- Configured data list: Select dimensions, query intervals, and aggregation methods for the selected metrics.
- After reviewing the widget settings, click [Create].
- The widget is added to the dashboard.
Configure monitoring conditions and alerts
By creating Event Rules in Cloud Insight, you can define monitoring conditions and alerts for Search Engine Service clusters. Alerts triggered by events help you quickly respond to cluster issues.
This section briefly covers only what is required for Search Engine Service. For more information on Event Rules, see Event Rule.
To create monitoring rules and enable alerts in Cloud Insight:
- In the VPC environment on the NAVER Cloud Platform console, navigate to
> Services > Management & Governance > Cloud Insight (Monitoring). - Navigate to Configuration > Event Rule.
- Click [Create Event Rules].
- Click Search Engine Service(VPC), and then [Next].
- Set the monitoring target, then click [Next].
- View group: Select a monitoring target group. Click [Create group] to create a group.
- View all: Select monitoring targets from resources created in Search Engine Service.
- Set the monitoring items, then click [Next].
-
View template: Select a monitoring template. Click [Create template] to create a template.
-
View all: Select monitoring items from all available metrics and configure event trigger conditions.
-
By configuring Event Rules for the metrics below, you can quickly detect cluster failures.
Metric Data type Unit Description Recommended condition cluster_node_count FLOAT num Number of nodes currently in operation elasticsearch_process_status FLOAT num Elasticsearch Process status. - 1: alive.
- 0: dead.
disk_free FLOAT num Available storage capacity (GB) CautionFor the cluster_node_count metric, data is recorded only on the manager node. Make sure to select the monitoring target accordingly.
