NAT Gateway is a NAT service that connects a customer's server with multiple private IPs inside the cloud platform to communicate with an external server with a public IP address. Multiple servers with private IP addresses can share one NAT Gateway, or you can create multiple NAT Gateways and use separate NAT Gateways for each server group. Security can be enhanced by allowing access only to hosts with external public IP addresses registered in advance by the customer. In addition, by connecting with the Auto Scaling service, newly added servers can be set to automatically use the NAT Gateway.

Various features provided by NAT Gateway

Please see below for detailed descriptions about the various features that NAT Gateway offers.

    • Support for various protocols: NAT Gateway service supports IPv4 protocol, and supports ICMP, TCP, and UDP as sub-protocols, allowing you to use various applications.
    • Hi-speed infrastructure composed of Hi-Availability (HA): NAT Gateway is designed with an HA structure for all high-speed lines and equipment internally. Even if there is a failure in the NAT Gateway device requested by the customer, access is automatically bypassed in real time through other NAT Gateway devices without changing the representative IP, so that the service can be used stably.
    • Easy management settings: You can create a NAT Gateway and conveniently set and manage necessary information in the console of NAVER Cloud Platform. You can change the settings whenever you need, and you can check the setting status at a glance.
    • Access target management through peer IP registration: By registering the client's host to be accessed through the NAT Gateway service as a peer IP and allowing access, unexpected access or malicious access using other external IPs can be blocked at the source.
