Available in VPC

NIMORO is a NAVER Cloud Platform service that analyzes and visualizes NAVER or user content data, lets you manage it freely, and offers a secure analysis environment that controls external data egress. NIMORO integrates with Cloud Data Box and Data Catalog so you can easily analyze and use NAVER data.
NIMORO consists of 4 areas—NIMORO Report for visualization and multidimensional analysis, NIMORO Wizard as a UI-based interactive analysis tool, NIMORO Probe as an advanced SQL query tool, and NIMORO Studio for building and managing these services.

NIMORO is divided into a service manager area and an end user area based on permissions. Service managers use NIMORO Studio to build and evolve specific analytics services, while end users analyze data and derive insights through NIMORO Report, NIMORO Wizard, and NIMORO Probe.

Note

The permission models for service managers and end users are provided separately and operate independently.

FAQs

Q. NIMORO has 2 types of services when it is created. What are the differences?
A. Depending on the target of data analysis, you can either create NAVER Data Analysis Service or Client Data Analysis Service.

  • Create NAVER Data Analysis Service: Analyze the supplied NAVER data using Cloud Data Box. To create the service, you must have Cloud Data Box created ready.
  • Create NAVER Data Analysis Service: Analyze the data uploaded by the client. To create the service, you must have Data Catalog database created ready.

Q. What does "service manager" mean?
A. NIMORO includes products, such as NIMORO Report/Wizard/Probe, providing various analysis features. And NIMORO Studio provides various management and control features with data management and analysis, content creation and management, service operation and management, and user management so that the service of those products can operate properly.
Service manager is the user (admin user) permission that establishes and manages analysis services using NIMORO Studio products.
The NCP main account that has created NIMORO service in the NAVER Cloud Platform is granted the service manager permission by default.

Q. Can I check user query history and information about failed queries in NIMORO Wizard or Probe?
A. You can check the history of queries you ran for the last 30 days in NIMORO Probe > Recent query.
If you are the service manager, you can view the task you executed and the data view history by date in NIMORO Studio > Monitoring > Run history.

Q. Can I add other connectors than Hive/Trino provided by NIMORO for the access and view of data?
A. Currently, other connectors are not supported. We plan to consider adding MySQL connector and others.

Q. How many depth levels are supported for Report/Wizard?
A. You can design and manage menus for Report and Wizard with the Menu Manage feature, and 3-level depth is supported.
However, 4-level depth is available with Report as it supports a feature to organize with tabs.

Q. How can I request permissions for NIMORO Studio?
A. You need the service manager permission to access NIMORO Studio.
By default, the service manager permission is granted to the Main Account that created the NIMORO service in the NAVER Cloud Platform Console. Please contact the administrator of that account to inquire and request permissions.
In NIMORO Studio > Service & Role > Service setting, the service manager can select certain NIMORO users and add them as service managers.

Q. What browsers does NIMORO support?
A. NIMORO is optimized to the latest versions of Chrome and NAVER Whale.
Some features may not operate properly in other browsers.

Q. A new DB/table/column is added to the already integrated source. How do I integrate it additionally?
A. When new data is updated in an already integrated source, refreshing the catalog information in NIMORO Studio > Data Manage > Data Catalog will immediately trigger additional integration.

  1. When a new DB is created or changes are made such as renaming a DB, select the connector/catalog that needs to be added, and the DB/Table list on the right is updated.
  2. When a new table is created or changes are made (such as renaming a table) within an already integrated DB, click the Reload icon to the right of the relevant DB in the DB/Table list to refresh the table list.
  3. When a new column is added to an already integrated table, click the Reload icon to the right of the relevant table under the DB in the DB/Table list to refresh the table's column information.

Q. I encounter an error when viewing a table when its name starts with a number.
A. Currently, Trino does not officially support querying tables with names that start with numbers.
Therefore, it is recommended that service managers, who serve as data administrators, avoid creating tables with names starting with numbers when preparing service data metadata.
Note that errors may occur when querying table names that start with numbers in the following areas where Trino-based queries run:

  • NIMORO Studio > Data Manage > Code Group
  • NIMORO Studio > Data Manage > Data Design
  • NIMORO Studio > Report Manage > Report > Step#3. Make Source
  • NIMORO Studio > Wizard Manage > Wizard > Step#2. Make Query
  • NIMORO Probe and so on
