Available in Classic and VPC
You can easily create, operate, and manage Search Engine clusters in the Search Engine Service of NAVER Cloud Platform. You can learn more about how to use it in the Getting started with Search Engine Service (VPC), Getting started with Search Engine Service (Classic) and using the Search Engine Service, but we recommend that you first look at the full scenario of using the Search Engine Service. Reading the guide after learning the usage scenario will allow you to use the Search Engine Service more smoothly. The following is the full sequence of using the Search Engine Service and a step-by-step description:
1. Set usage permissions
2. Create clusters
3. Manage cluster
4. Save and manage data
5. Cluster monitoring (VPC)
6. Create and use snapshot
7. Delete cluster
1. Set usage permissions
Set usage permissions for the Search Engine Service. Usage permissions of Search Engine Service are defined by mapping roles to Sub Accounts issued by NAVER Cloud Platform's sub accounts. Therefore, you need to first create sub accounts other than your main account through Sub Account.
Sub Account is a service provided free of charge upon subscription request. For more descriptions of the sub account introduction and plan, see Service > Management & Governance > Sub Account menu of the NAVER Cloud platform portal.
You can use sub accounts provided by Sub Account to configure admin permissions and user permissions of the Search Engine Service. You can refer to the following user guide:
- VPC
- Classic
2. Create cluster
You can create Elasticsearch and OpenSearch clusters.
New clusters cannot be created in a Classic environment after July 21, 2022. Use a VPC environment.
You can refer to the following user guide:
- VPC
- Classic
3. Manage cluster
You can check and manage the list of created clusters. You can add data nodes to the cluster, or restart the cluster if necessary. You can also set the manager node access information and the access information for Kibana and OpenSearch Dashboards. You can refer to the following user guide:
- VPC
- Classic
4. Save and manage data
You can import data stored in Object Storage into a cluster. You can also use Kibana and OpenSearch Dashboards to save and manage data. You can refer to the following user guide:
- VPC
- Classic
5. Cluster monitoring (VPC)
You can monitor the performance and operational indicators of clusters and nodes. Through Cloud Insight, you can set it up to be notified when a cluster fails. You can refer to the following user guide:
6. Create and use snapshot
You can create a snapshot of a cluster and use the snapshot to restore data. You can set up snapshot schedules to automatically create snapshots periodically.
Japan Region does not support snapshot-related features.
You can refer to the following user guide:
- VPC
- Classic
7. Delete cluster
You can delete the created cluster. You can refer to the following user guide:
- VPC
- Classic
