Please check FAQs first.
You can get your questions answered quickly by referring to the answers in the FAQ before reading the guide. If you haven't found the answer to your question in the FAQ below, then search the guide for what you'd like to know.
Q. Are there any preparations I need to complete before creating a PostgreSQL Server in Cloud DB for PostgreSQL?
A. You need to create an application server that will communicate with the PostgreSQL Server. However, the PostgreSQL Server created from Cloud DB for PostgreSQL is currently only accessible within NAVER Cloud Platform, so the application server must also be created inside NAVER Cloud Platform. For more details about how to create the application server, please refer to the Overall usage scenario and Start guide.
Q. Regarding the performance or operating system of PostgreSQL Server, is there a feature that enables the configuration of thresholds and notifies the admin of the events that occurred when they are exceeded?
A. By default, Cloud DB for PostgreSQL provides monitoring service and event collection service for the performance and operating system of the server. In addition, you can directly set thresholds and notifications via email or SMS for occurring events by linking with Cloud Insight. For detailed usage methods, please refer to Monitoring and Event.
Q. If I restart the primary PostgreSQL Server, does it automatically fail over?
A. Failovers are automatically performed only in case of failures, and they are not performed by the user issuing the restart command.
Q. Can users directly perform a failover?
A. Users can directly perform failovers. You can reproduce a failover situation caused by a primary PostgreSQL Server failure to check for any effects on applications prior to opening the service. The server access may not be available for a certain amount of time (minutes) during the failover process. For detailed usage methods, refer to DB Failover of DB server.
