Available in VPC
Cloud DB Serverless is a next-generation Cloud DB 2.0 service that further advances Cloud DB for MySQL, Cloud DB for Cache, and Cloud DB for PostgreSQL. It is a fully managed cloud database service that automatically adjusts specifications and adds replicas based on customers' database usage patterns, while providing large-capacity storage to support services with highly variable workloads. With significantly improved performance in scalability, flexibility, and efficiency, databases previously provided at the VM level are now delivered at the container level, enabling zero-downtime services and minimizing provisioning.
Using Cloud DB Serverless, you can easily build databases for each DBMS through the NAVER Cloud Platform console, automate container deployment and scaling, and perform fast backup and recovery. Cloud DB Serverless is built on Kubernetes, an open-source platform for managing containerized applications, and MySQL, an open-source relational database.
Cloud DB Serverless is a fully managed cloud database service that supports open-source relational databases. In addition to MySQL, other open-source DBMSs will be released continuously.
Cloud DB Serverless features
Cloud DB Serverless on NAVER Cloud Platform provides the following key features:
- Serverless architecture: Based on a Serverless architecture, computing resources are automatically allocated according to user usage patterns, minimizing the burden of infrastructure provisioning and resource management.
- Support for large-scale service expansion: By adopting an architecture that ensures stable service even under large-scale traffic and data growth, it supports high-volume services.
- Load balancing through auto scaling: Resources are automatically scaled up or down according to usage, maintaining stable performance even under sudden load.
- Fast backup and recovery based on snapshots: Data can be saved as snapshots at specific points in time, enabling fast and accurate recovery.
- Pay-as-you-go pricing plan: Without provisioning, costs are charged based on actual instance and storage usage, enabling cost-efficient operations.
